Home from Smofcon 2012
Dec. 3rd, 2012 12:51 amIt was interesting. I have never been to a Smofcon before, but I had a good time and if you are convention runner (and I know a number of people who read my LJ are), and one does occur in your area, I would recommend attending. I actually attend panels for once and listened. There was some good advice on various topics on how to run a convention. The fanish inquition was fun and the upcoming Worldcon bids (thru 2022, now) had some very good presentations. The most enthusiastic presentation for 2015 was definately Helsinki, but the one presentation that I think stole the show was the Chrismas in Boston 2020 bid.
I do plan to catch Smofcon the next time it floats into my regional travel area. (Its being held in Toronto in 2013 and then floating to the west coast for at least 1-2 years.)
