past couple of weeks and a kickstart signal boost

Now that things have slowed down a little in the recovery from Sandy @ work...

I have been working lots of long hours for my day job dealing with disaster recovery.  I got lucky and had power the whole time.   Work did not and got it back on Saturday morning. 

My parents got power back last weekend.    The gas lines that I have seen have been very long.   Fortunately, I have manged to not need to deal with them yet.  That is next week's challenge.  And I just heard they are supposedly doing odd/even gas days here on Long Island.  (I hope it helps.)

The weather in the NYC area has been fun...  First we had the Wash and Blow Dry (Sandy), then we had the agitation.  (A 2.0 earthquake in NJ) and now we have had a rinse cycle with extra air included (Nor'easter - Athena).

Someone is trying to raise enough funds to hire Tom Smith to write them a song.  (Tom knows about it.)

I am off to Philcon this evening to run filk for the second year in a row.   (The con starts tomorrow.)  I will see some of you there.
