Contata CDs...

I just finished duplicating (but not labeling) 300 CDs for Contata over the past few days...

Tonight's project was the big one. 150 CDs for all of the members of Contata 2011. With a membership, you are gettting a CD.

What's on there?

Songs from this year's guests - Judi Miller, Tom Smith, Lord Landless/Pavlov's Duck and Deb Wunder PLUS 1 song each from next year's NEFilk convention. Sorry, I am not allowed to reveal those names till Friday.

If you wish to get a copy of this CD, you can easily get one by either attending Contata THIS WEEKEND or by getting a supporting membership to the convention, if you can't attend the con. (IE - You are going to Westercon instead of visiting us on the east coast.)

Okay. I'm confused. On the Contata website, it looks like only Special Friend memberships get the CD... or is that a different CD and this one goes along with the song book?

Different CDs. There are actually three CDs in production. One is the CD Harold is producing, which goes to all members. There's a CD for the Premier Membership level that I've produced with highlights from last year's Contata, and there's a special edition CD tied into one of the events at the convention (the icon is a hint) that comes with the Special Friend membership, along with the other two CDs and some other goodies.

Sorry. I thought I replied to you directly... Here's the details I posted after I saw your confusion.

There are 3 CDs in the Special Friend membership.

One that everyone gets, one that the premium members get, and the Special Friend gets a recording that will never be released on CD again. The recording of this from 1987. http://www.tomsmithonline.com/comedy/rhms.htm

I published a CD for all the members of the con (both attending and supporting) that has 2-3 songs from (or selected by) this year's guests PLUS one song each from NEXT year's guests. I am not posting the song list till Friday since the NEFilk 22/Concertino 2012 guests don't get announced till then. That is the CD you will get with any level of membership.

The premium member CD is a CD produced by the conchair from the 2008 recordings that we made. I am not sure exactly on the availability of that CD other than as a premium membership at this time. (I hope it will be available post convention.)

The Special Friend CD, will not be available again (other than 1-2 copies deliberately being held back for interfilk @ OVFF since it was recorded @ OVFF 3.)

All CDs will have the label printed onto them vs stickers which some CD players don't like. (I know my previous Mac had problems with labels on CDs.)

This sounds like a lot of work--but good on you for doing it; I think it adds a lot to the con membership "bundle."
