Heather Dale concert and Philcon
Nov. 16th, 2011 02:22 amJust a quick post..
I caught the local (NYC area) Heather Dale concert tonight. Both her and Ben performed for about 1 1/2 - 2 hours with a break in the middle and it was a lot of fun to see her perform live again. (I have been to 4-5 of their concerts this year and they are always fun to listen to.) They did some songs from their new CD and some older songs. (The new CD is so new, its not on the web page yet!). Fairytale is the title and if I am remembering what she said about it earlier its songs based on some childhood stories. (One she did sing was a Pied Piper inspired song, which was an interesting take on the story.) Heather and Ben's web page is at - http://www.heatherdale.com
If you get a chance to attend a house concert on their tour, do so. Its worth it.
Her other new CD is a limited CD. Its a recording of her concert at 6Pi-CON where she was the music GOH. That CD is available on her web page as both a physical CD and a mp3 download. Note - There are 200 numbered CDs and they have a random batch of numbers with them. When the CD sells out, the mp3 goes out of print too!
As for Philcon..... Its this weekend and I look forward to seeing everyone who will be there. It was a challenge to schedule everyone and not make anyone be opposite another music item on the schedule. (Music GOH concerts, music panel by others not part of the filk track.) http://www.philcon.org
Heather and Ben happen to be in the Philly area for a few days later this week and WILL be performing at Philcon. Both on panels and will be performing a concert.
